London Underground Limited

Various LUL Sites - Metropolitan Line Power Upgrade.
Provided technical support for the review and comment on new and main plant secondary design drawings to ensure compliance with LUL and Powerlink standards and also the provision of interface engineering to facilitate the need to increase the number of traction substations on the Metropolitan line due to change in new rolling stock has been introduced by LUL. 

Greenwich Power Plant - DC Battery Replacements.
Interface engineering and cable routing designs associated with the replacement of the 110V and 48V DC Battery systems, which required to be staged to enable one DC system to remain in service until the opposite system had been installed and commissioned.
National Grid

Willesden 275kV Substation - Emergency Replacement Quad Booster.
National Grid identified the need to relocate a Quad Booster from Ocker Hill substation to Willesden substation. The work involved reviewing the existing circuit and interface drawings associated with the quad boosters at both Ocker Hill and Willesden for protection compatibility and to provide drawings highlighting to show the required site modifications. All were provided on target to meet short turnaround requirements. 

Stocksbridge 400kV Substations - Decommissioning of Supergrid Transformers.
Update of the existing, site drawings associated with the decommissioning of SGT1 and SGT2. Providing red/green drawings associated with the disposal of National Grid protection and control equipment/assets located within the 400kV and 66kV substation relay rooms. 

Barking Grid 400kV Substation - Network Rail Connection.
Full circuit design and interface engineering associated with Barking Grid/Essex Road cable diversion and the re-connection of the T4B circuit. The provision of primary plant design engineers, and panel manufacture was also included in our scope of works. Existing drawings updated in line with current NG policies for the change of feeder protection and replacement of 25kV disconnector. Bramford 400kV GIS - 10 Bays of 400kV GIS. Secondary systems design works for Bramford GIS 400kV. Also included were circuit diagrams for the 400kV GIS local control cubicles, and interface engineering for the overall substation.
Northern Power Grid

Horbury and Mount Road 33/11kV Substations - 33/11kV Transformer Replacements. At these sites full circuit design and interface engineering associated with the replacement of the 33/11kV transformers, HV/LV protection and AVC schemes.
Scottish Power Energy Networks - North

Bathgate 132/25kV Substation - Network Rail Connection.
Full circuit design associated with new 132/25kV substation and Network Rail 25kV connections. This work also included modifications to existing 132kV protection and control systems to interface with the new 132/25kV transformers. 

Haggs Road 132/11kV and Govan 132/33kVSubstations - 132/11kV Transformer Replacements.
Modification to existing circuit design and interface engineering associated with the replacement of grid transformers and 132kV disconnectors. 

Earlstoun 132/11kV Substation _ 132/11kV Transformer Replacement.
Full circuit design and interface engineering associated with the replacement of grid transformer, 132kV disconnectors and new 33kV switchboard. 

Grangemouth 275/33kV and Devol Moor 132/33kV Substations - 33kV Switchboard Replacements.
At these sites interface engineering of the new 33kV switchboards with existing protection schemes, which also included modification of circuit and interface designs to match intertripping and protection systems to the new equipment installed on the replacement 33kV switchboards. 

Various Primary 33/11kV Substations - 33/11kV AVC Schemes.
Full circuit design associated with the supply of AVC panels to Scottish Power Standard designs. 

Bonnybridge 132kV Substation - 132kV Protection Scheme Modifications.
The existing 132kV AIS switchgear is being replaced with 132kV GIS switchgear and also includes reconfiguration of circuits with replacement of protection and control schemes. Due to the changes at Bonnybridge it was necessary to provide modified circuit design and interface engineering for the remote end works at Cumbernauld, Bathgate, Drumcross, Devonside, Stirling, Westfield and Bainsford GSP substations.

Toot Hill 132/33kV substation - Protection Upgrade and Addition of 132/33kV Transformer.
Review and comment on supplied circuit design, including interface engineering associated with A1MTA and A1MTB protection replacement and the addition of third 132/33kV A2MT grid transformer and protection to the site.
Western Power Distribution

Princess Royal 33/11kV Substation - 11kV Switchboard Replacement.
Modification of circuit design and interface engineering associated with the new 11kV switchboard with existing protection schemes, which also included specifications for the new LVAC switchboard, 110V and 48V DC battery equipment, to allow the main contractor to procure this equipment. 

Lime Tree Place 33/11kV Substation - 33/11kV Transformer Replacement.
Modification of circuit design and interface engineering associated to facilitate the replacement of the existing 33/11kV transformer T2 and removal of 33kV switchgear at Lime Tree Place substation. Including circuit and interface designs to match the intertripping changes at both ends.
Miscellaneous works

Belmont 24kV Substation - New 24kV Switchboard.
Protection and control designs for the Bermuda Electricity Company associated with separate stand-alone control and protection panels to interface with Schneider 24kV switchboard panels. 

Edith Cavell Hospital - Protection Study.
Provision of service to Mercury for project management and resource to perform the fault level study and protection co-ordination analysis and reporting associated with 11kV supply and distribution system for new acute hospital, mental health unit and support services on existing Edith Cavell Hospital site. This included provision of load flow, short circuit and co-ordination studies.
Scottish Power Energy Networks – South

Prenton, Burlington Street, Deeside and Dutton Grid Substations - 132/33kV Grid Transformer Replacements.
At these sites full circuit design and interface engineering associated with the replacement of grid transformers and 132kV disconnectors. Including circuit and interface designs to match the intertripping/protection changes at the remote ends. Also included was the management of the panel build. 

St Helens and Formby Grid Substations - New Grid Transformers.
For these sites full circuit design and interface engineering associated with the addition of new grid transformers, 132kV disconnectors and fault recorders. Including circuit and interface designs to match the intertripping and protection changes at both ends. Also included was the management of the panel build. 

Holway Road, Mersey Bridge and Sandon Dock Primary Substations - New Primary Substations.
At these sites full circuit design and management of the panel build associated with the 33kV feeder and 33/11kV transformer protection and control panels. Also included was the management of the panel build 

Caergeillog 33kV substation - Substation Extension.
Full circuit design and interface engineering associated with the addition of a 33kV Feeder circuit with protection refurbishment of two existing 33kV feeders.

Fiddes 132/33kV Substation - 132/33kV Transformer Replacement.
Complete circuit design and interface engineering associated with GT1, GT2, 33kV switchboard replacement and protection upgrade. 

Isle of Bute 33/11kV Substation - 33/11kV Transformer Replacement.
Full circuit design associated with replacement of 33/11kV transformers T1, T2, 11kV switchboard and protection upgrade. 

Bridge of Earn and MacAlpine road 33/11kV Substations - 33/11kV Transformer Refurbishment.
At these sites full circuit design and interface engineering was provided associated with the transformer refurbishment, transformer protection, AVC and 11kV switchboards. Customer support at the panel manufacturer FAT. 

Various 275kV Substations - 275kV Feeder Protection.
Engineering drawings associated with the second main protection replacement at various 275kV substations. To assist SSE full site survey and report were produced. 33kV switchgear. Supply of generic design circuit diagrams for SSE 33kV Switchgear to be used on the SSE framework contracts.
UK Power Networks

Rye House 132kV substation - 22 Bays of 132kV GIS and Protection.
Design, protection specifications and main single line diagrams for the proposed Rye House 132kV GIS substation and associated remote end modifications, these would be issued by EDF-E to issue the documentation to project groups for tender purposes.

Industrial Customers

AWE - Protection replacements.
Modification of circuit design and interface engineering associated with the replacement of obsolete Translay protection and metering equipment at their Burghfield works. 

Cereal Partners - Additional Generation.
At the Brombrough and Staverton plants the existing 11kV switchboards required extending to accommodate the additional generation being produced at these sites. Included was full circuit design and interface engineering for the metering, G59 protection, 11kV switchgear panels and interface/protection wall boxes. 

Unilever - Generation Plant.
To accommodate new generation at the Wirral plant, the existing 11kV switchboards required to be modified to accommodate the additional generation circuit and changes to circuit configurations. Included was full circuit design and interface engineering for the 11kV switchgear panel modifications and interface to the 11kV generator control board. Magnox -Remote Control. Full circuit design and interface engineering associated with requirement at the plant to provide some physical separation between the operator and the 11kV switchboard. For these purposes a remote control panel was designed and interfaced with the 11kV VCB’s, this panel also accommodated local alarm annunciator, which provided a grouped alarm to the central control room. Also included was the management of the panel build. 

Tata Steel- Protection Replacements.
Modification to the existing circuit design and interface engineering associated with the 11kV switchboard at their Shotton plant with the removal of obsolete relays and replacing with modern equivalents and re-organisation of circuits connected to the 11kV switchboard. 

Alcan/SSE- Protection Replacement.
To establish the 33kV cable connections to the Alcan plant from SSE Fort William 33kV substation, the requirement was needed to reconfigure the circuits at Fort William and this required existing circuit designs and interface engineering to be modified and to provide drawings highlighting to show the required site modifications. Also included was the introduction of an operational intertripping and direction blocking schemes required to be developed to meet the running arrangements at Alcan and Fort William. 

Magnox - Switchboard Extension.
Full circuit design and interface engineering associated with the decommissioning at Dungeness with the introduction of a duplicate control panel in the central control room. Also in addition to this the 6.6kV switchboard was extended to 10 circuits, as a consequence the existing standby control/mimic panel was developed and modified to include all controls, indications and alarms for these new circuits.

Finnieston 132/33kV Substation - 132kV Grid & Primary Substation works.
Complete circuit design associated with the new 132/33kV Grid and Primary substation works, including modifications to the existing 132kV intertripping at Partick and Windyhill 132/33kV substations. Also included was the management of the panel build. 

Westfield 132/33kV and Hunterston Windfarm 33kV Substations - 33kV Switchboard New/Replacements.
At these sites interface engineering of the new 33kV switchboards with existing protection schemes, which also included modification of circuit and interface designs to match intertripping and protection systems to the new equipment installed on the replacement 33kV switchboards. 

Various Primary Substations - 33/11kV AVC Schemes.
Full circuit design associated with the supply of AVC panels to Scottish Power Standard designs. Longannet 275kV substation - 275kV FeederProtection Refurbishment. Full circuit design, modification to existing circuit designs and interface engineering associated with the RETS Denny North 400/275/132kV substation works. Work included for the replacement of feeder protections on the existing Bonnybridge, Windyhill/Lambhill, Clydesmill and Easterhouse circuits and the reconfiguration of circuits due to the turning of circuits to Denny North substation. 

Dewar Place 275/33kV Substation - Substation and Transformer Replacements.
Dewar Place Substation is major electricity bulk supply point for the City of Edinburgh. Scottish Power requirements was the reconstruction of Dewar Place which was constrained by the requirement to maintain secure supplies to the 33kV network. For this project full circuit design and interface engineering was provided for the multiple staged works to install new GIS equipment comprising the 275kV switchgear, 33kV switchboards, 275/33kV Supergrid Transformers, Primary 33/11kV transformers, Shunt Reactorsand associated Reactor switchgear together with dedicated water cooling systems, this was the first time of using the Toshiba, GIS transformers and reactors in the UK. Also included were the associated 33kV remote end protection alterations.

Fawley North 132/11kV Substation - 132/11kV Transformer Replacements.
Review and comment on supplied circuit design, including interface engineering associated with the staged replacement of A1MTA/B and A2MTA/B transformers and protection to keep operational risks to the Exxon Mobil oil refinery electricity supply to a minimum.
Western Power Distribution

Rockingham DC Substation - 33/11kV Primary Substation.
Full circuit design and interface engineering associated with the new primary substation at Rockingham DC to provide electrical energy at 11kV to new local developments. Included in the design were the protection and control schemes for the new 33/11kV transformers and 11kV switchboards. Also included was the management of the panel build.

Black Lake 132/11kV Substation - 11kV Switchboard Replacements.
Modification of circuit design and interface engineering associated to facilitate the replacement of three 11kVswitchboards and reconfiguration of the substation 11kV power cable connections. The designs had to be arranged to allow the changeover of the 11kV Incomers, Feeders and Bus Sections in a controlled staged programme to avoid disruptions to WPD Network. This included reconfiguration of LVAC and DC supplies to ensure decommissioned equipment at a later date can be removed without disruption to live equipment. Also undertaken in these designs was the replacement of obsolete transformer protection and AVC equipment with modern equivalents.

Tynemouth and Legacy 275kV Substations - Emergency Replacement of 400kV Supergrid Transformers.
Modification of circuit design and interface engineering associated with the emergency replacement of National Grid Supergrid Transformers and to provide drawings highlighting to show the required site modifications. All were provided on target to meet short turnaround requirements. At Tynemouth additional works was undertaken for the addition of a new 13kV Reactor, change in ownership of the 11kV switchboard and overall rationalisation of National Grid drawings for this site.
Northern Power Grid

Sixpenny Wood 33kV and Withernwick 66kV Substations - Windfarm Connections.
Full circuit design and interface engineering associated with the build of new substations necessary to facilitate the connections of new wind farms. Also included in the design was the provision of Loss of Mains scheme. 

Spencerbeck 66kV and Rawdon 33kV Substations - Transformer Replacements.
Complete circuit design and interface engineering associated with the replacement of transformers and 11kV switchboard due to increase in circuit demands. This included new transformer protection and control schemes. 

Tees Valley 132kV Substation - Waste Plant Connection.
Full circuit design and interface engineering associated with the installation of a 132kV Metered circuit breaker tee-off and associated protection at the existing North Bank substation and associated protection changes at Saltholme substation. Also included in the design was the provision of Loss of Mains scheme.

Various Primary Substations - Primary Substations.
Scottish Power required the integration works to provide a fully functional design for the 11kV and 33kV switchgear installations, including protection, control equipment and ancillary equipment at their Bulk Supply Points, primary substations and switching stations. For this work full circuit design was provided to the 33kV switchgear manufacturer for the development of standard solutions, this also included full mappings for IEC 61850 communications required from the various suppliers relays to the SCADA RTU, also of which were from different manufacturers, the projects also now encompassed the 11kV switchboards into IEC 61850 communication network.

Sloy 132kV GIS substation - 14 Bays 132kV GIS.
Full circuit design and SCADA facility schedules associated with the new 132kV GIS double busbar substation to be established at Sloy to replace the existing 132kV AIS substation. This work also included the modifications of protection and intertripping equipment at the remote end substations. 

Menzieshill and Tarbet Loch Fyne 33/11kV Substation - 33/11kV Transformer Refurbishment.
At these sites full circuit design and interface engineering associated with the transformer refurbishment, transformer protection, AVC and 11kV switchboards. Customer support at panel manufacturer FAT. 

Burghmuir 132/33kV Substation - 132/33kV Transformer Replacement.
Modification of the circuit design and interface engineering associated with the replacement of GT1, GT2 and 132kV disconnectors.
UK power networks

Osborne Street 132kV substation - 13 Bays of 132kV GIS.
Full circuit design associated with the new 132/11/11kV substation to be established at Osborne Street to replace the existing 33/11kV substation. Circuits included 132kV Banked Feeder/132/11/11kV Transformers, 132kV Feeder/Feeder circuits, Bus Coupler, Main and Reserve Bus Sections and four 132kV Feeders.

Airbus - Primary Substation.
Review and comment on supplied circuit design, including interface engineering associated with new 33/11kVtransformers and 11kV switchboard. Shell - Primary Substation. Full circuit design for 33/11kV Transformers T1 and T2 associated with the build of new 33/11kV substation at the London Gateway Port. Also included was the management of the panel build.
